WHO MADE MY CLOTHES?
WHO MADE MY CLOTHES?
On April 24, 2013, the Rana Plaza building in Bangladesh collapsed with thousands of garment workers inside. The factory produced clothing for several major fashion brands. The disaster one of the deadliest industrial accidents in history killed 1,134 people and injured over 2,500, most of them young women. It exposed the harsh realities of unsafe working conditions in the global fashion industry.
In response, the Fashion Revolution movement was founded by Carry Somers and Orsola de Castro. Every year around the anniversary, the movement organizes Fashion Revolution Week, encouraging citizens to ask brands one powerful question: “Who made my clothes?” The campaign calls for greater transparency, fairness, and accountability across the fashion supply chain.
At Orimpex, we believe in a fashion industry that puts people and ethics before profits. That’s why we proudly join the movement each year by sharing photos of our team with the hashtag #IMadeYourClothes giving visibility to the skilled individuals behind the garments and honoring their essential role in the production process.
